Intermedia Arts and Bush Foundation Announce Launch of Spring 2011 Creative Community Leadership Institute
Minneapolis, MN - As part of our commitment to provide comprehensive leadership training, resources and mentorship opportunities for artists and community development professionals working as catalysts for community change, Intermedia Arts is pleased to announce our partnership with the Bush Foundation in launching The Creative Community Leadership Institute, a learning network of pioneering Metro-area leaders in community development and the arts.

This spring, The Creative Community Leadership Institute, led by a core faculty of three highly respected and experienced professionals in the field of community cultural development, WILLIAM CLEVELAND, WENDY MORRIS, AND ERIK TAKESHITA, will provide comprehensive, professional-level training and support for local community-engaged artists and community developers.

The Creative Community Leadership Institute, (formerly Intermedia Arts' Institute for Community Cultural Development or ICCD), will bring together up to 25 fellows for personal learning, new partnerships and creative strategies around the question: How do the arts and community development work together to contribute to capable and caring communities?

Over the five-year history of this program, over 62 of the most active and prominent leaders in local arts-based community development and organizing have graduated from Intermedia Arts' leadership institute,  including DeAnna and Roger Cummings, co-directors of Juxtaposition Arts and I Self Devine (Chaka M'Kali), Director of Organizing and Community Building at Hope Community.

Intermedia Arts and the Bush Foundation share a mutual commitment to developing and supporting courageous leaders to work with their communities to identify assets and solve tough problems. In the "new normal," the future health of communities demands innovative, cross-sector leadership at every level. Read More ...
