2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of B-Girl Be, the first international festival showcasing and celebrating women artists in the founding elements of Hip-Hop. Encompassing MCing, DJing, breakdancing, and graffiti, B-Girl Be influenced thousands of artists and audience members since its inception in 2005, challenging and changing the perceptions and roles of women in this revolutionary art form as it continues to evolve.

To commemorate this anniversary, we are presenting Space & Time, a visual art exhibition that will include new work by artists from previous B-Girl Be exhibitions as well as emerging artists from Hip-Hop scenes around the world.

“B-Girl Be … opened a lot of doors for a lot of female artists in Minneapolis and in the country and in the world,” Knutson said. “It’s fun for all of us to reconnect with each other and see where other artists are at.”
