Join us on the 4th Tuesday of each month as we explore and connect with a diversity of literary voices, communities and issues through the words and imagination of some of the Twin Cities' most talented local writers in our innovative new reading series, Beyond the Pure! Featuring writers of color, queer writers, and writers making change and addressing issues in their communities
This monthly series rotates among three incredible readings: Queer Voices, a GLBT Reading Series; Color Theory for the 21st Century, Readings by Writers of Color; and Sounds of (R)evolution, the multi-disciplinary literary lecture series that explores local issues and communities through the words and stories of writers using their voices to inspire positive social change.
Each month, Beyond the Pure readings engage artists and audiences in an evening of literary inspiration that is energy-filled, joyous and focused on community. This is what literary art should be!

Beyond the Pure is the only literary reading series in the state whose mission it will be to elevate the visibility of and provide a platform for emerging writers whose voices have historically been underrepresented in the literary arts. This new series is artist-driven, encouraging artistic exploration and risk-taking, and supports a diverse population of emerging and established MN writers as they seek to achieve their next level of artistic success.
