Selection Process and Criteria
SELECTION PROCESS
Proposals for the Catalyst Series are accepted on an ongoing basis. Proposals are reviewed monthly by Intermedia Arts programming staff. There is no deadline for submissions to the Catalyst Series. All applicants will receive a response following their review.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Proposals are evaluated according to the following criteria:
Artistic Quality:
- Does this producer demonstrate artistic excellence?
- Does this producer have experience successfully presenting their work publicly?
- Does this producer demonstrate an ability to attract an audience and engage with their community?
Community Impact / Social and Community Change:
- How will this project engage audiences?
- Does this project include a community dialogue component? How will this project instigate healthy, meaningful interactions among individuals, cultures, ages, organizations, etc.?
- How does this project respond to and challenge social and cultural conditions through artwork created in and with the community? How does this project inspire change in social and/or cultural systems—organizational policy, media, education, business, etc.?
Ability:
- Is the project well designed, with reasonable expectations and a realistic timeline and budget?
- Has the producer outlined specific goals/outcomes?
- Has the producer given a reason to believe s/he has the discipline, desire and experience necessary to complete the proposed project?
