We welcome your ideas for art exhibitions, events and projects, especially those that lead to collaborations among artists, increase visibility and awareness of under-represented viewpoints or communities, and/or contribute to our mission to build understanding among people through art. However, the majority of our programming (including exhibitions) is decided considerably in advance of the event, with most projects undergoing an "organic" and collaborative development process.

Application Cycle:

No restrictions

Eligibility:

Any individual, group or organization is welcome to submit a proposal to Intermedia Arts. There are no geographic restrictions; however, we are committed to participating in and developing "community," whether in terms of geography or of shared identity; this commitment leads to a natural emphasis on local and regional artists.

All proposals must meet at least two of the following criteria:
  • Inspires and supports artists and community members to create art that builds understanding
  • Creates and fosters healthy, meaningful interactions between individuals, cultures, ages, organizations, etc.
  • Responds to and challenges social and cultural conditions through artwork created in and with the community
  • Inspires change in social and/or cultural systems—organizational policy, media, education, business, etc.

Application Procedure:

If you would like to submit your idea for an art exhibition, event or projects, simply fill out our Unsolicited Art proposal form and mail, email, fax or drop it off with us. Please be sure to follow our guidelines, and fill everything out completely; incomplete applications will NOT be reviewed.

Selection Process:

Intermedia Arts programming staff reviews proposals on a quarterly basis. All applicants will receive a response following their review.
