Dietrich Sieling is a young artist who lives and works in Minneapolis. He attended Perpich Arts High School, with a visual arts focus. In 2005, he won the Minnesota Scholastic Arts Award in drawing, receiving a Gold Key (highest honor). In 2006, the Belfry Gallery hosted an a 2-person exhibition - he and Michael Gaughan, showing his newer drawings. In April-May 2007, Perpich Fine Arts Center gave him a solo Alumni Show. Currently, he is attending an intagalio class at the U of M, designing kudu and antelope t-shirts, and at work on a commission.

I have lots of drawings. I draw people that I know. I draw places that I have been to. I draw pictures from magazines and pictures from my memory. I have some paint and colored pencils and crayons and markers. I draw on small paper and big paper. I draw some fabrics and shapes and lines and textures and words. I like to take pictures with my digi-camera. I like to take pictures of lights and many things that are the same and many things that are different. I use pink and green and orange and white and black and brown and beige and all the colors. I am nineteen years old. I live in Minneapolis with my family. I hope I go to college art school. Art makes me feel good. I like to make art for a long time. The old work is about drawing people with the shirts off. The new work is about the colors and the light.
