| Local artist Jan D. Elftmann is the founder and artistic director/curator of the ArtCar Parade. She recruits and organizes local and national artists for this unique display of artistic expression. She is the creator of a local ArtCar, the Cork Truck, a 1987 Mazda truck covered with 10,000 wine and champagne corks collected from local restaurants. In addition to her ArtCar, Elftmann is active in the local arts community, working in a number of artistic media and with students in museums, colleges, and schools through the Minnesota State Arts Board, COMPAS, and the children's education programs at the Science Museum of Minnesota. |
