BLACK BLONDIE


Black Blondie blends hip hop, soul, trip hop and dub. The band consists of vocalists Sarah White (Traditional Methods) and Samahra Linton, plus instrumentalists, Tasha Baron on keys and boxes, Liz Draper on upright bass and Kahlil Brewington on drums. The deep, sultry vocals of White intermingle enigmatically with the virtuosic and twangy hint of the burlesque in Samahra's voice. Draper, Baron and Brewington offer a striking musical environment focused on the raw, the pocket and the analog. Black Blondie centers on affirmative, progressive lyrics stirringly balanced out with a touch of the erotic.

Black Blondie has opened up for The Coup, Vitamin D and Luna Angel as well as local fresh talent like I Self Divine and Doomtree. Black Blondie is banging away on their first album.
