What is B-Girl Be?

 

"The B-Girl Be event is an all encompassing female inspired Hip-Hop event that touches on all aspects of Hip-Hop, with emphasis on showcasing female graffiti writers and the community issues that we as women involved in Hip-Hop face. B-Girl Be focuses on the ever growing, conscious, socially aware, powerful and positive group emerging and taking their rightful throne: Women in Hip-Hop. I am eagerly anticipating what the B-Girl Be 2006 conference has on deck."

Missions of B-Girl Be

  • Open doors to women of all ages and cultures.
  • Celebrate the accomplishments of women in all elements of hip-hop.
  • Create bridges so women can make connections, build confidence, sharpen skills, and access the tools to create music, film, poetry, rap, aerosol art and dance.
  

B-Girl Be Visions


To be the first hip-hop summit in the world to present the work of women that represents all elements of hip-hop culture and incorporates scholarship, filmmaking, media arts, theater, discussion and youth activities.

B-Girl Be is not just for the hip-hop community. Our messages and stories relate to everyone. The event is open to people of all ages, genders, incomes, and ethnic communities. B-Girl Be is kid and family-friendly. There will be activities for all ages.
