Both b-girl and entrepreneur, Aruna Vermeulen
is one of the new-school Hip-Hop activists, expanding the boundaries of
Dutch youth culture from her hometown in Rotterdam. As one of the founders
of the HipHopHuis, a center for Hip Hop culture, located in Rotterdam,
she lives Hip Hop around the clock. During her study at the Erasmus University,
where she studied World History for 6 years, she was always drawn to the
field of action. After performing at the Olympics in Athens in 2004 and
winning best show at BOTY Benelux, she wants to maintain that level of
status with her new collective ‘Breakers Anonymous.’ |
