After watching her little brother, Bubba, popping to Michael Jackson, Emily Shebesta was inspired to find a popping class in Minneapolis. What she found was Jason Noer's Beginning Breakdancing class and has been b-girling for the last 3 years. Emily performed her first choreography on First Avenue's stage with the "Good Girls" and learned to go-go as well ;-) Shortly after the "Good Girls" disbanded, she was extremely thrilled to join the very talented and internationally acclaimed Twin Cities hip-hop group: Collective, An Integrated Dance Company. Through Collective, Emily has performed at Camp Snoopy in the Mall of America, Dance in the Dark at the Southern Theater, Hopkins Center for Performing Arts, a 4-day Middle School Fellowship in Aberdeen, SD, Arturo Mile's Variety show at Patrick's Cabaret, and the St. Paul Flint Hills Children's Festival. Emily has b-girled and battled in Chicago, Kansas City, Iowa, Nebraska, San Francisco, and New York. You may also have seen her locally at: Bastille Days, Pride Events, DoomTree BlowOut, Twin Cities Celebration of Hip-Hop, DivaRiot, or at Spring Street Tavern and Foundation Night Club on any given weeknight. Last August she appeared along side B-boi Seqal in a Slumberland commercial. Emily has also battled alongside Minnesota greats B-girl Seoul and B-girl MonaLisa. “I have been inspired by the some of most gifted female dancers in country. I am blessed to call them my friends. Life has danced through me and becomes my spirit.” –Emily
