Black Pearl

Da Black Pearl (Tinitha Warren) was born in Chicago, IL. She was raised in Minneapolis, MN since the age of four. She found her love for poetry in the 4th Grade and has been writing ever since. In 1993 Tinitha earned the NFTE (National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship) Award as the young owner of her own African American greeting card company Black Berry Graphics, Inc. Inspired by her younger brother (Slim of G.O.B.), the desire to perform and share her thoughts with the public through spoken-word has grown over the years. She has recently become a part of Minneapolis Spoken Word University and has named the Poets Groove (Blue Nile-Tuesday Open Mic) her sanctuary. Tinitha currently lives with her family on Minneapolis’ North Side.
