Zena was born on the southwest side of Chicago.
She wanted to be a comic book illustrator at the very young age of twelve,
but then found a calling in Graffiti. In 1994 she joined FCT an all female
crew and later she joined LAWS crew where they taught her how to piece
and exposed her to all kinds of art. She attended The School of the Art
Institute of Chicago in 98' and took a break from the Graff scene. While
in school she got into video and collage and ironically found herself
making video and collages about graffiti. In 2003 she joined Synergy Crew
and lead a Mural/Graffiti class dedicated to mothers, which led her to
work with a nonprofit organization named Pros Arts Studio that facilitated
the program. She now works for Pros Arts Studio full time and teaches
multi media to kids 6-13 years old, street art to students 6 and up, and
digital video production to teens 14-21 years old.
