This "all access" pass allows you entrance into all B-Girl Be sponsored events June 2-5, 2005 (*BONUS - Summit Pass includes 21+ Afterparty at First Ave). In addition you will receive one food ticket to the B-Girl BBQ on Sunday, June 5 at noon, discounts on B-Girl Be merchandise and eligibility for giveaways.

Because of high demand and limited space for panels, films and performances, pass holders must make a reservation for all events they plan to attend and show up at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Features DJ Jennifer, G5, Kendyl Joi, and poets from R.Y.O.T., the Minnesota Spoken Word Association (MNSWA)'s youth entity.

Features fashion and performances by Cipher, Desdamona, Amphavahn Inthisone, Isis, Felipe Cuauhtli, Toki Wright, member of St. Paul Central High School's Central Touring Theater.

AEROSOL ART MURAL PRODUCTION

For the first time ever in the Midwest, the Intermedia Arts building will be painted by an all-female crew. ZORI4 (Puerto Rico) will lead this collaboration of five female graffiti artists from across the United States. Guest artists ASIA ONE (Los Angeles), LADY PINK (New York), PHEM9 (Kansas City), SILOETTE (Phoenix), LADYKFEVER (New York City), TOO FLY (New York City) will paint with local women throughout the three days of the summit.

PANEL: Women in Hip-Hop Scholarship

Featuring Joyce Bell (Sociology, University of Minnesota), Aisha Durham (Communications, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), Kim Euell (MacArthur Fellow, University of Minnesota and Dramaturge at Penumbra Theatre), K.E. Maori Holmes (Temple University and University of Pennsylvania), Dr. Gwendolyn Pough (Syracuse University), and Melisa Riviere (Anthropology/Global Studies, University of Minnesota).

This panel will engage questions of hip hop in the academy.  The panelists are women who teach using hip-hop, teach about hip-hop, have taken hip hop coursework at the college level, and women who have a stake in how hip-hop is being taught, researched and written into the academy.

PANEL: Hip-Hop Women in the Media

Featuring Anjali McGuire (B96 On-Air Personality), Asia One (Dancer/choreographer of music videos and feature films), Miranda Jane (former editor of The Source magazine), Kuttin Kandi (DJ, Activist / Hip Hip Lives), Miss Shannan (B96 On-Air Personality), and Kandis Knight (columnist for The Pulse).

This panel will engage discussions with women working in media outlets - magazines, radio, television, film, online and beyond.  The women on this panel are esteemed within hip-hop and working in the industry.  They will share their experiences as women working in these outlets, and engage current topics like representations of hip-hop in the media, representations of women in hip-hop in the media, and hopefully inspire and offer tools to other women looking to pursue careers in media.
