Anselmo Cornejo B. (born 1969) is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. His artistic career begins at the early age of 9. At 14, he initiates his exploration of the arts, including the development of various techniques in visual art, sculpture and muralism. In Guadalajara, he studied with master artist Juan Ricoy. For a period, he was dedicated to the craft of carving epoxy resin. In Zacatecas, he painted a canvas with the image of the Virgin of Refuge for a church and painted several murals on enormous rocks along a river near the town of Refugio Nieves. After traveling to Texas and Colorado where he also created artwork, he met artist Alexandro Trujillo from Artrujillo Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cornejo was vice-president for three years and also exhibited work at Artrujillo Gallery. Some collaborative projects include the murals on Lake St. and 1st and 2nd Avenues and at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. He has also exhibited work at the Outside and Others gallery, several local art fairs, Day of the Dead exhibitions and, has realized creative projects at the Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul. Currently, he offers art workshops at community centers with women’s groups, disabled people and, is the Visual Arts/Painting mentor for a second consecutive year for Intermedia Arts Espejos mentorship program based in Minneapolis.

Anselmo Cornejo B. (nacido en 1969) es originario de Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. Su carrera artistica comienza, como muchos niños, a la temprana edad de 9 años. A los 14 años, él inicia la exploración del arte en todos sus aspectos, incluyendo el desarollo de varias técnicas de arte visual, escultura y muralismo. En Guadalajara, estudió con el maestro Juan Ricoy. Por un tiempo se dedicó a la artesania tallada en resina epoxica. En Zacatecas, pintó un cuadro de la imagen del la Virgen del Refugio para una iglesia y murales en rocas enormes cerca del pueblo de Refugio Nieves. Despues de viajar a Téxas y a Colorado donde trabajó del arte, conoció al artista Alexandro Trujillo de la Galeria Artrujillo en Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cornejo fue vice-presidente de la Galeria por tres años y há exhibido su obra en la misma. Algunos proyectos colaborativos incluyen los murales de Lake St. con las avenidas 1st y 2nd y aún, en el Instituto de Arte en Minneapolis (Minneapolis Institute of Arts.) Cornejo há exhibido su obra creativa en la galeria Outside and Others, en varias ferias de arte en Minneapolis, en exhibiciones del Dia de los Muertos y, há realizado proyectos de arte en el Museo del Niño (Minnesota Children’s Museum) de St. Paul. Actualmente, el ofrece talleres de arte en centros comunitarios con grupos de mujeres, personas descapacitadas y, es mentor de pintura por segundo año consecutivo en el programa de aprendizaje -- Espejos -- en Intermedia Arts, Minneapolis.
