Danza Mexihca Mentor

Sergio Quiroz is a Mexican immigrant that has been practicing and promoting traditional Mexihca (Aztec) dance for 10 years. He teaches dance and the art of feather-work for the copilli, the traditional headdress. He has lead and presented with Danza Mexihca Cuauhtémoc at various cultural events such as Dia de los Muertos, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and Dia de los Ninos, Science Museum of Minnesota, including several academic events and conferences at the University of Minnesota and community organized immigrant marches. Sergio is currently starting a new Mexihca dance group called Kalpulli Yaocenochtli. It will be the 4th Mexihca dance group in the Twin Cities.

Sergio Quiroz es un inmigrante Mexicano que ha practicado y promovido la danza Mexihca (Azteca) por 10 años. El enseña danza y el trabajo de arte plumario en los copilli o, penachos. El ha dirigido y presentado con Danza Mexihca Cuauhtémoc en distintos eventos culturales como El Día De Los Muertos en el Instituto de Arte de Minneapolis, Día de los Niños en el Museo de Ciencia de Minnesota, incluyendo distintos eventos académicos y conferencias en la Universidad de Minnesota y, marchas comunitarias pro-inmigrantes. Actualmente, Sergio ha empezado un grupo nuevo de danza Mexihca llamado Kalpulli Yaocenochtli. Este será el cuarto grupo de danza Mexihca en las Ciudades Gemelas.
