In 2002 Intermedia Arts and the Twin Cities Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) co-founded ICCD to build a network of individuals and organizations with a shared commitment to using the arts to build strong, sustainable communities. ICCD has brought together a total of 43 fellows for personal learning, new partnerships and creative strategies around the question, "How do the arts and community development work together In 2004 ICCD convened the Twin Cities Community Cultural Development Leadership Summit, a two-day gathering of 120 organizations and individuals to look at the role of our cultural assets in "rebuilding, redefining and respiriting our cities from the ground up."
