Adnan Shati was born in Iraq and received his education in Iraq and Italy. Adnan is a freelance artist and has participated in personal and group art exhibitions in the Middle East, Europe and Minnesota.

Adnan spent four years living in refugee camps in Iran and Pakistan before coming to Minnesota in 1990. After settling in the Twin Cities, he earned his Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Minnesota. He has also created murals for several homes and businesses in the Twin Cities, including the interior decoration for Sindbad Bakery and Deli in Minneapolis. As a special education teacher, Adnan uses art to stimulate his students' talents and creativity and to enhance the learning environment.
