Born in Jayanca, Peru, Jesus is a lawyer, teacher and self-taught musician and singer. He has always been dedicated to helping others. At age 15, he started teaching children in his neighborhood how to read and write. As a lawyer, he provided free legal help to poor people, including helping people in a squatter's settlement claim their land titles. As a volunteer for a Peruvian human rights organization, Paz Y Esperanza, he helped conduct workshops for victims of human rights abuses for the truth and reconciliation commission. Jesus enjoys playing music such as Latin American folk, praise, worship and pop. Jesus knows that music is a universal language that helps people around the world come together. Jesus would like to inculcate in students a respect for others, even when we don't agree with each other. This will teach us how to respond to conflict in a non-violent way.
