Tamar Ghidalia was born in Tunisia, grew up in Paris, moved to Israel in 1976 and came to the U.S. in 1989. Tamar is a Jewish educator and a professional musician (percussionist and singer). She is the founder of Kolot, a local Israeli-music quintet. Tamar became deeply involved in racial justice and immigrant rights’ work as a member of Jewish Community Action, and she remains a leader in the JCA racial justice working group. Most recently, Tamar proposed a partnership between JCA and the Minneapolis Talmud Torah to offer a course on social Justice for high-school students. This full-year course, now being taught by JCA staff, leaders, and allies will become a model course to educate young adults and adults in our community. |
