Elliott Durko Lynchwww.mnartists.org/elliott_durko_lynchFor Your Eyes Only by Elliott Durko Lynch Has technology changed the way we live? Remember? Memorialize? Socialize? As one of the last generations to buy an album, Lynch's childhood paralleled the growth of computer technology, the spread of cell-phones, and the proliferation of Internet communication. Integrating movement, media and object theater, For Your Eyes Only, unravels Lynch's progression from an adolescence of online gaming mania to his adulthood advocacy of slowness and resistance to all things "My Space." Live and in person, not available on "YouTube," Lynch searches for connection and authenticity as he exits himself from the information superhighway. Has anyone written a letter in the last 10 years? Will suitcases of old letters and photographs be replaced by Hard Drives? Witness the reclamation of identity, space and time as something that does not have to be experienced as media bombardment. Lynch is coached by Charles Campbell, Co-Director of the Minneapolis Performance Group Skewed Visions. Naked Stages 1: October 19-21, 2006 at 8 PM |
