Naked Stages 2007

What do pornography, chocolate, the Bible, and a Precious Gem have in common? In this frank autobiographical performance journey, Sex, Sugar, Sin, & Spirit, Crystalline Ruby Muse shares her experience with tender and controversial issues such as abortion, non-monogamy, sexual addiction, bisexuality, compulsive eating and starvation, body image, and conservative religion. She explores these topics through storytelling, drama, inspired movement, music, poetry, humor, and ceremony on the Intermedia Arts stage October 18-20, 2007. Muse’s performance will be enhanced by live music on accordion, xylophone, and various percussion instruments by musicians Kari Kjome and Cherolyn Fischer.

Crystalline Ruby Muse has been a performing artist in the Twin Cities area since 1996. She was the music director for the annual BareBones Halloween show for seven years. In 2003 she was one of the Artistic Directors for the BareBones’ production Soothsayer: A Radical Faerie Tale. She has been the Artistic Director for the annual Feile Brid sacred drama since 2002, and has performed with numerous theatres including Shawn McConneloug and her Orchestra, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, and the Great American History Theater. Crystalline is a singer, violinist/fiddler, and composer. She performs regularly with the bands Muses’ Mill, The Pachamama Band, and Broomfield Hill; she is the director of the Inspired and Ecstatic Arts branch of The Tree and the Well Institute for Deep Cultural Studies.
