When asked to come play Twister at Intermedia Arts, Dottie Hazzard replied, "Dots and arts? How could an artsy-fartsy roller derby poet refuse?" Ms. Hazzard just completed a mentorship in spoken word at Intermedia Arts and is excited to be back to help support their dottaliscious programming.
Deathly afraid of driving, John Maddening flies to every bout in a private plane. He is easily distracted by vintage motor scooters, Star Wars toys, and Minnesota RollerGirls. He can't dance, he can't sing, but he sure can talk loudly! Bringing his announcing "skills" from local scooter rallies and sci-fi conventions to the Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium, John Maddening is honored to be calling bouts and Twister games for the Minnesota RollerGirls!
Scotty (not in it for the booty) Cruz has been with the Minnesota RollerGirls since their inaugural season at Cheap Skate in Coon Rapids. When not generating enthusiasm from every pore in his being, Scotty enjoys riding his unicycle. His favorite people are roller girls, roller derby fans and Intermedia Arts staff members! But who plays the best Twister?
Mad King Thomas is the collaboration of Tara King, Theresa Madaus and Monica Thomas. They do all sorts of awesome things, some of them at Intermedia, and most of them under the heading "dance." They were participants in Naked Stages 2007 and had their first Fringe show ever beneath this graffiti-ed roof. They could not love Intermedia more.
Puss Puss of Dykes do Drag, a once famous child star, grew up on the mean streets of Gary, Indiana prostituting her way through stripper school. Puss Puss is currently living and working out of her van parked behind Cracker Barrel in Fridley, and would like thank Barbara Walters for ruining her life.
RSE Radio's Dj King Otto quickly made a name for himself in the Twin Cities as an all-purpose Hip Hop DJ. Currently holding down 4 weekly and 2 monthly residencies, his ability to please many ears has made him one of the most sought after DJs in the Twins.
DJ Jake Rudh is a former Radio K, REV 105 & NPR alum who spins records each Wednesday night at one of the Twin Cities best clubs...Clubhouse Jager (10th & Washington in the North Loop) as well as warehouse parties/art galleries/weddings/corporate events and various other venues throughout the year. He is the recipient of the 2005 Minnesota Music Award (MMA) in the DJ category and has been voted "best club DJ" by the readers of City Pages for '03, '04, '05, '06 & '07!
ARENA Dances by Mathew Janczewski, impacts viewers on a visceral and kinetic level with its exhilarating, pure, athletic movement. The company of dancers seemingly flies through the space, with exuberant physicality, whipping their bodies into precarious positions, only to break into the far reached of the room. Janczewski’s choreography has a seamless quality rooted in intelligence, thoughtfulness, and grace.
The Minnesota RollerGirls are part of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), a national governing body for female-only, skater-owned, flat-track roller derby leagues. The Minnesota RollerGirls league was founded by the Donnelly sisters in August 2004 and has grown from 6 original members to a current roster of 80 skaters, 8 referees and coaches, and countless volunteers.
Collective is an integrated hip-hop dance company comprised of a diverse group of dancers. Through collaborative, choreographic methods, they produce shows with a dynamic energy that is unique and true to the roots and spirit of hip-hop dance.
Melanzana, which means “eggplant” in Italian, is a high school string quartet that was formed in September 2007. It consists of violists Evan Vicic (senior) and Katherine Williamson (junior), violist Erin Gallagher (senior), and cellist Paul Leger (senior). They are coached by Ray Shows of the Artaria String Quartet through the Artaria Chamber Music School.
Ibrahima "ibé" Kaba, spoken word artist, was born in Guinea, and grew up between Sierra Leone, Chicago and St. Cloud, MN. Although he has his mailing address in St. Cloud, Ibé lives in what he calls the middle of the Atlantic, and from there he uses poetry to tell the story of Africans in America. ibé is a member of the Minnesota Spoken Word Association and has preformed at many venues around the Twin Cities including Jazzmine's, Intermedia Arts, Barnes and Noble Bookstores, and the Communiversity monthly lecture series; St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN; and the Nuuyorican Poet's Cafe in New York. ibé is a writer, but in the tradition of ancient African Griots, uses spoken word to get his message across.
Quilombolas is a multicultural Minneapolis based world-fusion band combining diverse musical influences from around the globe with strong African roots such as hip-hop, reggae, samba, salsa, rock, funk, and other styles to produce a unique multiethnic groove. In addition, lyrics are sung and rapped in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Hebrew, and some African tongues like Yoruba.

Teatro del Pueblo's mission is to promote cultural pride, develop and support Latino talent, educate the community about Latino culture, and promote diversity in the arts. The Political Theatre Festival is a portal into Latin American politics, and has provided a forum for discussion on weighty topics for seven years.
Marvelle is a band of disparate influences. Each member brings their own unique approach, to what is essentially an amalgam of diverse musical backgrounds. Blending classical violin, fluid drumming, noisy bass lines, and sweet vocal harmonies, this is truly a group that successfully unites classical to punk or indie-pop to prog.
Heiruspecs is a rap/hip hop band based in St. Paul, Minnesota, specifically the Midway neighborhood. Their most recent album, 10 Years Strong, was released in December of 2007. It is a compilation of new and old songs, many taken from Live from the Studio and Antidisestablishmetabolism, both of which are now out-of-print. The band is mostly known for their live performances. In contrast to many contemporary hip hop groups that use sampling and turntables, Heiruspecs emphasize a raw, live sound, their roots and local scene.
Foxy Tann heads the Twin Titties Burlesque and is back at Station4 where it begins with a greyhound and a glue gun! Foxy Tann and The Wham Bam Thank You Maams parade their particular talents in the biggest, blackest and the only burlesque revue in Saint Paul! They got afros and attitudes! They got talent and tassels! As has been heard the world over, they put the Tann in tantalizing! At any time you could see drag, singin’, dancin’, peelin’, poets, fire-swingin’, clownin’ and the occasional puppet! The cast is an ever-changing line up of the TC’s finest and freakiest in cabaret talent.
Mighty Fairly is a melodic pop foursome from Minneapolis, MN. Their debut release is being spun nationwide on over 260 college radio stations and has been met with critical acclaim.
