Graffiti Art at Intermedia Arts
At Intermedia Arts, we partner with and showcase the creative workings of individual artists and groups within the aerosol/graffiti art and hip-hop culture. We believe that we can be a catalyst for creating an understanding of the art form, bridging the gap between graffiti artists and communities. We have always been a strong advocate and positive supporter of graffiti culture since moving into our building in 1996. It is our belief that graffiti art has the right to be displayed and discussed openly in a public forum, and we have shown our support by allowing artists to express themselves on the building's exterior walls and at times in our gallery space.
We are committed to the acceptance of the art form and its purveyors and strive to showcase the best graffiti art in the Midwest on our walls. Over the years, Intermedia Arts has featured works by Minneapolis' own A.K.B. Crew, New York’s Tats Cru, and Seattle’s K.Y.T., in addition to internationally celebrated female artists such as Lady Pink, Femme9, Zori4, Muck, Toofly, Shiro, and far too many more to count. We have provided our walls to youth groups including Juxtaposition Arts, Hope Community and Waite House. We will continue to be a proud supporter of the artists and the art form and look forward to beginning a new chapter with The G.A.M.E.
